What this series covers

Most owners can name a number they think their business is worth — few have tested it. Carry Value Forward is a free four-part conversation for owners who are starting to ask what they've actually built, whether it could continue without them, how the business and the real estate around it affect each other, and what path protects it best. Each session stands on its own, but together they follow one journey: understand the worth already established, identify what makes that value transferable, resolve how the business and the property interact, and choose the right next chapter — whenever that time comes.

Led by someone who's done this work for 20+ years

Russ Kitzberger is the founder and Managing Director of CREBB Group, a Certified General Appraiser and Expert Witness, and leads the largest single-agent commercial real estate and business brokerage team in the region. CREBB Group operates under eXp Commercial.

The four sessions, in detail

What Is Your Business Really Worth?

"How do I know what I have actually built?"

Most owners have a number in mind for what their business is worth — but where did that number come from? Russ Kitzberger walks through what actually drives value: transferable systems, customer concentration, owner dependence, recurring revenue, and the real estate tied to the business. This session covers the difference between price, financial performance, transferable value, and strategic worth, and why an early valuation conversation is useful even when no transaction is planned.

You'll leave with: a practical framework for thinking about worth beyond a single number, a list of value drivers to start documenting, and a clearer sense of when a confidential valuation conversation makes sense — whether or not you're planning to sell.

Is Your Business Ready to Be Carried Forward?

"Would the business work without me, and would someone else be able to take it forward?"

Would your business run without you? This session looks at the difference between a successful business and a transferable one — owner dependence, management depth, documented processes, financial clarity, contracts, and customer concentration. Russ covers how early preparation can expand your available choices, and why readiness should be treated as a disciplined process rather than a rush to market.

You'll leave with: a transfer-readiness checklist, the ability to recognize the most important value and continuity risks, and a short list of improvements to investigate before choosing a transaction path.

When the Business and the Real Estate Are Both Part of the Decision

"Should I sell, keep, lease, relocate, or separate the property from the business?"

For many owners, the building and the business are tangled together — and the timing of one can quietly limit the options for the other. This session covers why the business and property should be analyzed together, common strategic paths (combined transfer, retained real estate with a lease, separate sale, relocation, staged transition), and how occupancy costs, lease terms, financing, and buyer requirements shape what's actually possible.

You'll leave with: a business-and-property decision map, a clearer view of which facts must be gathered before choosing a path, and awareness of the coordination required among your advisors.

Choosing the Right Next Chapter

"What path protects what I built and gives it the best chance to continue?"

Selling isn't the only path forward — and it isn't always the right one. In the final session, Russ looks at how personal goals, financial needs, timing, continuity, leadership, and risk shape the options available to an owner: outside sale, family succession, management transition, partnership restructuring, or expansion — and the difference between finding a buyer and identifying a capable next steward.

You'll leave with: a next-chapter options worksheet, a set of questions for evaluating timing and successor fit, and a clearer path toward a confidential assessment with the right advisors.

Questions before you register

Do I need to be ready to sell to attend?

No. This series is for owners who are starting to ask questions, not owners who have already decided anything.

Is there a cost?

A replay is sent to every registrant after each session.

Is anything I share confidential?

Yes. Nothing you submit here is shared publicly, and attending does not commit you to any further conversation.
